Rachel Adler Rachel received her Bachelor’s Degree from Connecticut College in Religious Studies. Currently, she is pursuing her Master’s Degree in Behavior Analysis from California State University, Los Angeles. She joined the Shabani Institute in 2009 and has worked with both younger children experiencing behavioral and social difficulties, as well as adults with limitations in communication. As part of her work with adults, Rachel has been involved with both staff and caregiver training. Rachel also has previous experience working in culturally diverse settings, including the Center for Cross-Cultural Studies in Seville, Spain and Colgate University in Chennai, India. Vahe Babakhanian Vahe received his Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from California State University, Los Angeles. Vahe has previous experience working with school age children in a variety of academic programs. Vahe has begun working with young children diagnosed with autism, as well as adolescents and teenagers with severe behavior disorders.
Courtney Bloom-Pulte Courtney received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Magna Cum Lauda, from American Jewish University (formerly University of Judaism) in 2007. She received her Master's of Arts degree in Psychology with a Marital and Family emphasis from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. She has been with the Shabani Institute since 2008. During that time, she has worked with a number of clients, ranging from early intervention with some of our youngest clients to adolescents and teenagers with severe behavior disorders. She has extensive clinical experience in applied behavior analysis. Recently, Courtney has begun coursework toward her doctorate in psychology. Her goal is to earn a position in a mental health clinic and work in Marriage and Family Therapy, counseling children, adolescents, adults, elders, couples and families. Wing Lam Wing received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from California State University, Los Angeles. Currently, she is pursuing her Master’s Degree in Behavior Analysis from California State University, Los Angeles. She has been with the Shabani Institute since early 2010. Wing has previous experience working as a behavioral therapist, where she provided home-based behavior analytic services. She worked with children 5 to 12 years old, teaching a variety of skills including self-help, communication and community integration. Wing has also recently begun working with adults with special needs and has been involved with training staff in day programs.
Erika Myles Erika received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology (with a minor in business) from California State University, Los Angeles. She also has an associate of arts degree in communication. Currently, she is pursuing her Master’s Degree in Behavior Analysis from California State University, Los Angeles. She has been with the Shabani Institute since 2009. Erika has previous experience providing home-based behavior analytic services to children diagnosed with autism. She also has recently become involved with parent training and the implementation of verbal behavior language programs.
Joy Norwood Joy received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from California State University, Northridge. She has been with the Shabani Institute since 2009. She has previous experience working with individuals with special needs, as both a 1:1 therapist and assistant teacher. As a teacher, she was involved with the development of daily lesson plans. Joy has worked with young children and adolescents with language difficulties, as well as older teenagers and adults with severe behavior disorders.
Antonio Sala Antonio received his Bachelor’s Degree from Western Michigan University in Psychology. Currently, he is pursuing his Master’s Degree in Behavior Analysis from California State University, Los Angeles. He has been with the Shabani Institute since 2009. Antonio has previous experience as a behavioral therapist working with individuals diagnosed with autism. As a therapist, he has worked on skills related to adaptive functioning. Antonio also has experience working with individuals with severe behavior disorders.
Rene Sandoval Rene received his Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from California State University, Los Angeles. He has been with the Shabani Institute since early 2010. Rene has experience working with a number of school aged children. He has also worked as an academic tutor. Recently, Rene has begun working with young children diagnosed with autism, as well as adolescents and teenagers with severe behavior disorders. Carlos Santos Carlos received his Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from California State University, Los Angeles. Recently, Carlos has begun working with young children diagnosed with autism, as well as adolescents and teenagers with severe behavior disorders. Ashely Smeester Ashley received her Bachelor’s Degree from California State University, Northridge in Psychology. Currently, she is pursuing her Master’s Degree in Counseling from California State University, Los Angeles. Ashley has previous experience as a behavioral therapist working with individuals diagnosed with autism and severe behavior disorders. As a therapist, she has worked on skills related to adaptive functioning.
Kim Zhu Kim received his Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from California State University, Los Angeles. He has been with the Shabani Institute since early 2010. Kim has experience working with both children and adolescents with severe behavior disorders. He has also recently been involved with caregiver training.
